Livin’ La Vida Lavender

Main character outfit alert! As someone with a closet full of statement pieces, I genuinely thought I had the perfect collection. That was until I walked into the Imad Eduso showroom during my trip to Nigeria and saw the Abeke Corset Top andAdunni Pants in person. My jaw was actually on the ground because I couldn’t believe how beautiful it looked in person and I immediately understood why the set was on my wishlist. It was even more stunning when I tried it on because the fit was perfectly tailored but the color? There’s a whole psychology behind why it hits the way it does and we have to get into it.

Purple & Lavender: It’s Giving Royalty (Literally)

Fun Fact! Purple used to be so rare and expensive to produce that only royalty could afford to wear it. So, while we are carrying that royal energy with us when we wear purple. Psychologically, purple represents:

  • Luxury and creativity — it’s the color of visionaries and people who don’t do boring
  • Wisdom and spirituality — there’s a reason it feels a little mystical
  • Confidence — picking purple is a statement. It’s giving I woke up and chose power.

Lavender and lilac are purple’s softer and dreamier cousins. Their energy is exactly my vibe right now. Especially as this shade is associated with renewal, calmness and femininity. It’s not trying too hard to be the main character. It’s just effortlessly beautiful and it knows it.

That’s exactly what makes this Imad Eduso set so special. It carries all the prestige of purple with the corset top, softened into something wearable and completely ethereal with the Adunni pants.

Why Silver Was the Move

I paired the whole look with silver pointed heels, a silver purse, and silver earrings for a touch of drama. Silver accessories with lavender isn’t something I would have immediately gravitated to since I’m a gold girl, but gold would’ve warmed the palette up too much. Silver keeps everything cool, sleek, and elevated. The pointed heels also add edge to look and complement the sequin detail in the pants without looking too extra. Even though, looking extra is always the goal. The final look is feminine but fierce, and that’s how we like it.

The Imad Eduso Effect

If you’re not familiar with Imad Eduso, please note that this is a maximalist, fashion girl’s haven. This Nigerian luxury brand creates pieces with incredible craftsmanship and an undeniable sense of elegance that feels both culturally rooted and ahead of its time . Walking through their showroom was on my bucket list of things to do while in Lagos as I’ve supported the brand from the US for a long time and being gifted this set made it even more meaningful. It’s not just an outfit, but a whole memory I get to carry with me every time I wear their pieces.

Getting dressed with intention is one of the most underrated forms of self-expression and if that intention happens to involve a purple corset top and sequin embellished pants? Even better.

That’s why I’m Livin’ la vida lavender and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
