One of my favorite tricks for Summer to Fall transitional dressing is turning a lightweight Summer coverup like this gorgeous one from Andrea Iyamah into a chic maxi dress for Fall. The vivid orange and green colors within the birds-of-paradise florals that make up the print on the coverup remind me of the Fall foliage that takes over once the season begins to change. The key to mastering the transition for this piece is to layer it over a fitted turtleneck, oversized blazer or leather jacket and accessorize it a fabulous pair of booties and faux fur vest. Since it’s still pretty warm here in LA, I opted for a pair of neutral sandals and a wide brim hat to pull the outfit together for a true coastal chic look.
